first sunny day in bologna!

Today was the first day of sun we've had in the week and a half I've been in Bologna, so I was finally able to take some pictures, though not many. My roommate Dana and I wandered around at the open air market and in various shops all afternoon.

Last night I had my first experience of Italian opera, albeit an unusual one: at the school of opera here in Bologna, a very modern interpretation of Orpheus and Eurydice. Tomorrow we're going on our first day trip to Ravenna, which is apparently known for its ancient mosaics.

Some pictures:

A dog graffito! Italians seem to be crazy about dogs.

You see them tied up on the sidewalk everywhere while their owners run into a shop.
